Q.What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is the management of disease, deformity or injury using physical means such as exercise, heat or cold therapy, acupuncture, manual therapy, education as opposed to the use of medication or surgery.
Q.How effective is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is very effective in management of appropriate physical conditions. Evidence based practice is key to achieving best and effective treatment.

Q.Is physiotherapy same as massage?
No, massage is one of the modalities used for treatment in physiotherapy. Physiotherapy is the thorough assessment of local pain area, the kinetic chain and biomechanics of movement in order to reach a diagnosis. Appropriate treatment is then determined of which massage may be included. Massage is also know as soft tissue manipulation.
Q.Is there free parking?
Yes, 2 hours free parking at the premises of the gym where we are located.
Q.Is there disabled access?
Yes, there is a lift access through the door, 1 yard to the right of the stairs that lead to the gym. Please let us know if you would require a lift access.
Q.What do I need to bring along?
Your referral form if you have been referred, insurance claim number, medication list and any relevant documentation especially if you had an operation or you are under a consultant.
Q.What will happen at my first appointment?
You will be asked questions about your health generally, then various objective tests will be performed on the local area and whole body to arrive at an appropriate diagnosis.Treatment may be included in a 45 mins session, but a 60 mins session is recommended to allow more time for treatment.
Q.Do I have to be referred by my Doctor or specialist?
No, Self referral is possible.
Q.How long do appointments last?
Initial appointment is usually 45mins, we may not be able to fit in all necessary treatment within this time for some body parts assessment and we would usually recommend you book a 60 mins slot in this instance. Follow-up treatment and sport massage sessions will be from 30 mins.
Q.How should I dress for appointments?
You should wear comfortable clothing that would allow easy exposure of the local area to be assessed and also allow easy movement during assessment.
Q.How can I pay?
You can pay at the clinic by card or cash. Invoices will be provided on request.
Q.Can I access your services through my health insurance?
Yes, you can. You can either come with your referral documents fron the insurance company or we can contact them on your behalf to confirm your treatment has been approved.
